Wikipedia defines it to be: A technique used to wash a vehicle without the use of water (also called a waterless car wash). This technique uses a product that contains many different ingredients, including wetting agents , lubricants and protectants. The detergents and wetting agents in the product combine to soften and emulsify surface grime, while a specific blend of fluids and lubricants attach a microscopic layer of protectant to the surface. The protectant is often an extremely rare (and expensive) substance which provides a bonded layer of protection against any remaining abrasive not broken down by the detergents and wetting agents.

3. What are polymers, protectants and special compounds?

Protectants contain extensive cross linked polymers, which make it extremely effective as a car wax or glaze . Our products contain a complex mixture of cleaning elements along with the glaze ingredients.

Polymer Compounds: We use special compounds that act as surfactants. (Surfactants lower the surface tension of a liquid. Soaps and some components of detergents are typical surfactants). These special compounds act as wetting agents which effectively wet the surface and surround the dirt particles. By surrounding and engulfing  the dirt particles, it protects the paint from scratching. After you spray the waterless car wash product on the surface you are cleaning, the dirt is encapsulated and the first “cleaning towel” traps and lifts the dirt away from the surface. The second “polishing towel” will clean and buff off the remaining hazed up wax, leaving behind a shine and transparent level of protection.

Using the towel: Make sure you fold the towel into fourths. When one fourth of the towel is soiled, we recommend that you unfold the towel and refold it so that a clean section is exposed. Use this clean section to continue cleaning. Repeat this function as the towel gets excessively soiled. The product will soak through, but the dirt will not.


Bottom line: Pristine Products will not scratch.

4. How does it work?

With proper application our Pristine products lift dirt from the vehicle by emulsification . The products engulf dirt molecules, lifting them from the paint surface, before you start to wipe. At the same time, the application process initiates the cross chain polymer linking process that results in an extremely shiny, highly protective glaze finish. All this happens very rapidly due to the balance of ingredients within the product itself. The application process does not involve high pressure nor extensive rubbing. The application process also does not require "soaking" - using a high volume of product. In fact, just  two ounces are typically enough to clean most midsize to full size vehicles. When used in compliance with its "directions for use," the vehicle will shine and water will bead on it as if it was just wax. You’ll notice rain droplets sliding off all of your vehicle’s surfaces like never before.  One more note to consider, with repeated applications, your car's surface will begin to establish a hard protective coating making the paint more and more resistant to dirt.  You'll notice that each subsiquant wash will become quicker, easier and your car will look shinier while staying cleaner longer.

5. Can you use Pristine Waterless Car wash on glass? 

Yes, you can. It works great on glass and won't deteriorate your wiper blades like some other rain repellant glass products. 10. How do I use the product?

1.       Take 5 seconds and shake the bottle of Pristine Washless Car Wash before using simply to agitate the emulsifiers and other ingredients. Our formula does not settle so shaking it up is not necessary during cleaning.

2.       Spray Pristine Waterless Car Wash on to the car's paint surface, holding the bottle 12-18 inches away from the paint surface. Spray on 3 square foot areas at a time, using flowing movements as if you were spray painting to achieve even coverage. We do not recommend spraying into cracks or seams simply because it's difficult to get at them afterwards. If in a windy area you can spray Pristine Waterless Car Wash into a micro-fiber towel before applying. Note: prior to the first wipe with the “cleaning towel” spray some Pristine directly on the towel to remove friction and to "prep & lubricate" the towel.

3.       Now that both the surface and the cleaning towel are wet, gently rub Pristine Waterless Car Wash into the surface with that microfiber cleaning towel. You’ll notice a haze or matte sheen which is the Pristine protective coating that is left behind from the cleaning towel.

4.       Using another clean, micro-fiber towel, “polishing towel” to buff off the haze. This will create a clean and super shiny finish that you won't be able to resist looking at yourself in and running your fingers over the new silky smooth surface.

5.       Repeat steps 1-4 as you circle the outside of the vehicle in a methodical orientation starting with the roof and working your way down to the bottom of the vehicle finishing up at the bumpers and later on the wheels. So…clean the roof in one round, clean the windows all the way around in another, the hood, doors and fenders in one more round, and finish up with bumpers. If you’re a fanatic about your finish you can finalize your cleaning using a third clean towel and go around the car one last time to see if you missed any spots but two microfiber towels is more than enough to transform a car from grimy and dirty to clean and flirty!
